Carlington is a neighbourhood in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada bounded by Carling Avenue to the north, Kingston Avenue' and Caldwell Avenue to the south, Fisher Avenue to the east, and Maitland to the west. This neighbourhood contains a small number of older homes that were built after WWII to accommodate returning veterans. Many of the street names (e.g., Admiral, Veteran, Marshall) reflect the military heritage of the neighbourhood. As of the 2006 census, Carlington had 10,107 residents. Residents face a number of challenges including relatively poor access to healthy food, poor accessibility to grocery and specialty stores, poor health and low percentage of residents feel sense of belonging in neighbourhood.
