Watts is a residential district in Los Angeles. It is considered part of South Los Angeles. Like many areas in South Central (now South) it is notorious for poverty and street crime. The per capita income stands at only $6,681; 49.7% of families and 49.1% of individuals were below the federal poverty line making it the poorest place in the Los Angeles area.
