The West End Gang

The West End Gang is a gang founded in the early 1900's, by the Irish, in the west side of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The gang is still largely dominated by people of Irish decent. Along with the Mafia and Hell's Angels, this gang makes up the syndicate known as the "Consortium", similar to New York City's commission, controlling the ports (and therefore the drug trade) in the city. The West End Gang are considered to be one of Canada's most powerful and profitable criminal organizations. Montreal police estimate that they currently consists of approximately 125 to 150 members. The group does not operate with a Mafia-like hierarchy; it is loosely organized with captains heading different factions.
