These pictures DO NOT represent what Regent Park really looks like. There is not that much graffiti on the walls. These pictures must have been taken during, or just after, one of the many film productions shot in this area. The walls have been "tagged" by film crews to make them resemble housing projects in the United States. This is a misreprestation of my neighboorhood and it disturbs me greatly! These pictures were taken before film crews had a chance to wash THEIR graffiti off.
Notice in one of the pictures there are orange pylons. If you could see, these pylons say "FILM". Meaning the area has been blocked off for the shooting of a film. I've read a lot of misinformation about Regent Park and I'm getting sick of it. A lot good things happen here to, but no one ever hears about it. There's a lot of good people here too. It is not all drug dealers ,prostitutes, and theives. These are the prejudices that the neighboorhood and it's residents have to deal with, and that's what keeps us down.
