Oakwood and Vaughan

Oakwood and Vaughan is a neighbourhood in the city of Toronto bordered by Eglinton Ave. West to the north, Dufferin Street to the west, St. Clair Avenue to the south and Arlington Avenue to the east. It however overlaps with the Caledonia-Fairbanks neighbourhood to the west. There is a sizable Caribbean, Italian and Portuguese community in that area. It is also the location of one of Toronto's most famous West Indian restaurants and a few after hour pubs. The local drug scene was controled by a gang calling themselves the VR Troopers (VR= Vaughan Road) in the early 90's, but have since been taken over by a new generation of gang bangers claiming alligiance to the Bloods gang.
