New York City is the birthplace of hip hop culture and music. It consists of five boroughs: Brooklyn, The Bronx, Manhattan, Queens and Staten Island. New York City is the largest city in the USA with a population of 8,214,426 as of July 2006. New York City has an area of 830 km², coupled with its large population, this makes it the second most densely populated city in the United States.
