The West Side (W/S) Menlo Gangster Crips are an African-American street gang originally founded on 65th Street and Menlo Avenue in Los Angeles, California. This street gang has grown from its humble beginnings to a sizable force with many different sub-sets in Los Angeles County and across the country. Formed in 1977, the Menlo Crips was originally named the Menlo Boys, then Menlo Gangster Crips (due to their alliance with their future arch rival: the Eight Tray Gangster Crips). However, due to their heated rivalry with the Hoover Criminals, the Menlo Crips were often at war with most Tray/Gangster Crip sets. Although some older members still claim Menlo Gangster Crip, the younger generation have decided to drop the "Gangster" from their name completely and align themselves with the Deuce card. Their territory runs from Normandie Avenue in the west and to the 110 Freeway in the east, and from Gage Boulevard to the north to Florence Avenue to the south. They are considered allies to all Neighbor Hood Crips, which includes the 6 Pacc East Coast Crips, the Rollin 60s Neighborhood Crips, the Rollin 40s Neighborhood Crips, 55 Neighbor Hood Crips, the Rollin 90s, and the Rollin 100s. The Menlos are cliqued up with their closest ally, the 67 Neighbor Hood Crips, who shares the same territory as them. This gang is very dispersed with members located in Hollywood, Hawthorne and Pasadena (with other sub-sets across the U.S.A. which includes Maryland and Tennessee). Their most heated rivalry to date is with all Hoover Criminals, specifically the 74 Hoover Criminals Gang and the 83 Hoover Criminals Gang, who the Menlos have engaged in a bitter and bloody rivalry with that has lasted over 30 years and is still going strong to this day. They also are rivals to all Gangster Crips including the Eight Tray Gangster Crips, 71 Gangster Crips, 51 Trouble Gangster Crips, all Avalon Gangster Crips, the 52 Broadway Gangster Crips, 68 Play Boy Styles Crip, Play Boy Gangster Crips and the Bacc Street Watts Crips. Their main Blood rivals include all 3 Brim sets including the 62 Brims (their longest standing rivalry), the 54 Van Ness Gangster Brims and the Fruit Town Brims. They have also had past conflicts with the Inglewood Family Gang, Family Swan Bloods, the 52 Pueblo Bishop Bloods and Leuders Park Piru.

Notes:

1: Due to their alliance with the 67 Neighbor Hood Crips, members may refer to themselves as The "Vermont Square Gang" or "Vermont Square Crips".
