Markham a.k.a. M-Town is a suburban town in York Region, north of the eastern half of Toronto (i.e. north-east of Yonge & Steeles). It is part of the Greater Toronto Area and has a population of 261,573 which ranks 16th in Canada.
Public transit users in Markham are known to have the flyest rides of all, the Viva.
Viva buses are pimped out with 24" chromed out rims, TVs on deck, woodgrain on the dash, automatic doors, voiced GPS, bucket seats, touch-screen ticket machines, and soon wi-fi.
Many other suburban towns and municipalities such as Mississauga are jealous that Markham has the Viva. I guess you could say, haterz gettin mad cuz, i got me some bathin' apes.
Markham is also known to house a lot of grow-ops for sales across the GTA.
Hoods
There are not many hoods in Markham although there is one concentration of subsidized rental townhouses at Woodbine & 16th that is considered Markham's Regent Park (of course it is still much nicer than regent park). There are also a few other pockets of subsidized housing here and there but no major problems.
