La Eme
From Rap Dictionary
The Mexican Mafia, also known as La Eme(Spanish for the letter M), is a criminal organization created by Luis Huero Buff Flores in the 1960's in Southern, California at the Deuel Vocational Institution, which is a prison in Tracy, California. There are several Hispanic gangs in Southern, California who are under the control of the Mexican Mafia. The Surenos are the most known one's, along with Mara Salvatrucha 13 aka MS-13. All gangs that are controlled by the Mexican Mafia represent the number 13 since the letter M is the thirteenth letter of the alphabet & the letter M stands for Mexican Mafia. Gangs working for the Mexican Mafia wear the colors blue, brown & white, although colors aren't really that important. Many members are starting to be more descreet nowdays and show their affiliation by wearing tattoos. Their main rivals are gangs under the Blood Alliance who wear the color red. The Mexican Mafia are close allies to gangs under the Crip Alliance, since they share a common enemy the Blood Alliance.
