The Loco Blood Set/Crew
A gang with "crews" throughout the provinces of Alberta and British Columbia; LBS is shorthand for Loco Blood Set, LOcKO BLOODS or simply Locos,have been known to call themselves Mafia Bloodz. It is estimated that there is anywhere between 20-100 members for each large urban center in Alberta, with a possible total of over 800 members. Unlike many other so called street gangs in Alberta, this Set has members which are considerably more dangerous than most rival gangs. Places where the gang is very prevalent includes southwestern Red Deer (and it's surrounding communities),Prince Goerge,Kelowna, undisclosed neighbourhoods in Edmonton, Grand Prairie(where it first apeared) and Fort MacMurray,lethbridge,and Loydminster. The gang generally avoids wearing excessive amounts of their "colors" to avoid detection/suspicion from the RCMP, and is reputed to be involved in the selling of sherm, marijuana, mushrooms, and a variety of other psychadelic drugs and narcotics.The gang has been involed in several armed robberies in all citys there found in.Gangmembers go by the terms Blood in Blood out and are very close connected,most members of the gang carry weapons and with close to 30% of this gang in prison and more than 9 members killed in turf wars it just goes to show how hardcore they are trying to earn what they consider respect from rivals.LBS is considered by RCMP as one of the big four gangs on the west coast of canada(along with IS,UN,and IP) and has close ties with Hells Angels,KPB,CD and NBA.LBS as it seems has reached a peak though with 2 of the main leaders in maximum security prisons and one shot to death in vancouver leaves only the final Boss (whos name is protected under the youth rights act)Who is only 17 known as the "Kid King" who is also facing several charges to date.
some of the coverage of this gang started to come forword after a couple members were confronted infront of a edmonton strip club on november 16'2007 by several members of the Indian posse;in a result 3 members of the indian posse were stabbed several times and 2 more posse members fled the seen after one member of LBS Brandished a firearm the 3 members of IP were sent to edmonton hospitol were later two of the members surcome to there injuries. The RCMP have yet to solve the 5 month old homicide. Spokesmen for the RCMP have realesed statments to the public that the RCMP SGU(special Gang Unit) have comeced a Plan to Criple or Destroy the gangs activity in the Edmonton area
