Hypo aka The Greek Kid

Biography

An aspiring young and talented artist from the west side of Scarborough, Toronto, Canada. Hypo aka The Greek Kid has been in the game for a minute. Around eight years but has just began taking it seriously in the past three.

Growing up being a major fan of rap/hip-hop, He credits artists such as Jay-Z, Nas, Tupac, Eminem, Big Pun and Styles P having a great influence on his craft. He is known for his lyrical ability and insight on everyday life which can relate to a lot of people, he is also known for his witty punchlines but does not like to be considered a punchline rapper. He has been working hard to generate a buzz by battling other local emcees and putting out tracks. In grade nine he met Kontajus Lokz and became a high ranked member of the group/label 52 Entertainment. Now being in adult school trying to achieve his high school diploma because it is a necessity in this day and age. Taking part in school cyphers was how it all started a few years back. He moved on to releasing numerous tracks, working with different artists and gaining a loyal fanbase. He has preformed at local events and worked in many different studios such as Wellesley Sound, Hey World, Blacklight, Middle Grounds Headquarters, and Lokz's own 52 Entertainment Studios.

Creating connections and networking at such a young age makes this kid a major threat in the Megacity. His thought process is unique and he tries to be creative with every song he makes. Convincing you with every rhyme that he is raps prophet, he stays consistent and knows how to please the listener while always staying real. Using his life experiences and observations of the world and environment around him as inspiration. Good production, catchy hooks and different concepts make Hypo who he is as an artist. Some of his music has been heard on the radio but his goal is to have a major hit-single in rotation on Toronto's own Flow 93.5 FM in the next year.

Once his album/mixtape is out he is determined to blow on the Toronto hip-hop scene. With many obstacles thrown his way and many more in store on his long and hard journey to stardom, Hypo claims he will overcome them all and one day plans to run his own record label. Starting Brown Bills Inc. & NightHawks Ltd. alongside H.I.M, 52 Entertainment & MEGACITY PROBLEMCHILDz the labels will feature many talented artists from all over Toronto in the Rap/Hip-Hop/R&B/Rock/Reggae genres. Currently Hypo is working on many projects and is down for collaborations and features but his main focus is completing his solo album-mixtape that will be released in the summer of 2009 which is titled "More Than A Phase". A street mixtape titled "The Investment" will surface before the album-mixtape some time in the third quarter of 2008. There will be a release party and a video shoot following shortly after. Lokz and himself are also working on a duet mixtape which should be hitting the streets soon. There is also a MEGACITY PROBLEMCHILDz mixtape in the works along with other projects. MEGACITY PROBLEMCHILDz is a group/label started by himself and friend/business partner V-Tega. Giving talented street youth an outlet to develope as artists and businessmen. The Greek Kid has big plans and is definitely one to look out for in the near future.
