1. To speed or get out of a bad situation. Derived from a "buck", or dollar. A buck fifty would then be 1.50, referring to doing 150 miles per hour. "Buck" came to mean money because deer hides (buck skins) were once traded just like money.

1. To cut someones face from ear to ear with a razor, from the fact that switchblades once cost $1.50.
