Dog Loco

Rattambilage Humal Harsha , better known by his stage name Dog Loco , is a Sri Lankan Hip hop artist , Music Composer. He was born in Moratuwa, Sri Lanka and moved to Italy. He was the founder of several music groups and later gathered with " Up in C " to make the Hip hop group NWO. He achieved critical and commercial success for " Thani Tharuwa " .

Biography

Early life

Harsha was born in Moratuwa and had completed his primary education in Prince of Wales College, Moratuwa. Then he moved to Italy and continued his studies. But he used to spend vacations in Sri Lanka. His closed people know he was born to make good music. He loved Music a lot.

And he is always admiring his parents, " If my parents were not with me , I wouldn't be here. They always helped me and supported me.Still do . I equal them to the God of my music " .

Music Career

He hosted a new music group called " BlackFire " . It was consisted of his closed friends in Sri Lanka. In 2006 he released his first official single " Ma Thani Wi " , a sinhala RnB song . Then he introduced a new era of Sinhala rap through his second song " Street Life " featured by BlackFire members, but the less confidence in singing and composing as well as the less facilities in the studio didn't lend a hand to him to have fame. But he can be considered as a hidden pioneer of Sinhala rap culture.

In 2007 he worked with BlackFire for the music album " Ma Thani Wi " . But he realized that he needs more knowledge on music and effrontery in performing. So he began to study Music while singing Italian songs for the Italian music group called " Casino Club " . Meantime he kept up his abilities on making music. In 2009 he released his first music video " Thani Tharuwa " composed by Gimantha Aponso and it still remains as his biggest hit single.

Dog Loco settled in Italy . So he talked to the other BlackFire members and moved away from it . In italy he made his first hip hop group " B Thugs " with his closed homies Soulja and Big Slob. But he always wished to have his friends Eighty and Bounce to ' B Thugs '. Because he knew he will be able to make a change if he can make a song which got Big Slob's heavy beats , Soulja's hard rapping , Eighty's lyrical skills and Bounce's experience about the background of Hip hop . But Eighty and Bounce didn't like to join with B Thugs and instead of that they came in to an agreement that B Thugs and Up in C will record songs together under the record label , LocoHood Entertainment .

But suddenly Soulja broke up with B Thugs as he decided to move on as a solo rap artist . This time Dog Loco talked to the Up in C members again and made the hip hop group NWO. Later he told that NWO is more like a generation . You all can walk on the road we show you through our music. It's a change.

And while Eighty was chilling at his studio , they just spitted two verses on the mic for fun . But then Dog Loco composed it and released it as the intro music of NWO , " The Connection " . Now he is composing songs for upcoming artists and Italian rappers like Yoma. These days Loco is studying for his Sound Engineering Degree.

Artistry

Dog Loco is best known for Sinhala freestyling . He can drop a freestyle in anytime . And he can sing in Italian language too. Range of his music taste varies from RnB to Hip Hop , Rock and Pop. His rapping style was influenced by DMX a lot and he even brings the same "dog barks" and "dog growls" on to songs. Eighty always call him a futuristic maestro of Sri Lankan Music.
