Cassidy
Barry Adrian Reese (Cassidy) Cassidy is one of the best lyrical rappers alive, known for his complex rhymes. He started apearing on mixtapes, then he got a record deal with Swizz Beatz. He got heard by battling other rappers. Cassidy released his debut album, Split Personality, in 2004, with the hit single "Hotel". It was a great success, but it was refecting his pop side more, but if you listened to his mixtapes, he talks about selling crack, talks about guns, and killing people. He was a straight hustla. That's when he went in the studio to record his second album, "I'm a Hustla", which was originally titled "Personality Change", in 2005. The first single was "I'm a Hustla" which was also very successfull, and almost successfull as his debut single. It was one of the first ringtones to be ceritfied platinum. The album went on to be certified gold, just like his first album, but Cassidy had the chance of going platinum if he promoted the "I'm a Hustla" album more. He couldn't do so because he supposebly shot a guy, and the dude died. After a long time in court, the witness, under oath, admitted that they lied about seeing Cassidy shoot the guy that died. After he had served 8 months, Cassidy was released from a County Jail in March 2nd, 2006. Later that year in October, Cassidy was in a car accident when he was hit by a U-Haul type truck, while being the passenger in an SUV. He was taken to the Jersey City Medical Center, where he was diagnosed with a fractured skull and several broken bones on the left side of his face. Some time later Cassidy went to re-record his third album, now officially titled "B.A.R.S. The Barry Adrian Reese Story". It was originally titled "This Time Around", then it was changed to "It Is What It Is", and then finally "B.A.R.S.". Cassidy pretty much re-did the whole album, to catch up with things that recently happened, even though he had about three thirds of the album already completed. The release date was around the end of August, but it was messed with many, many, many times, until finally it was offically changed to November 6th.
