Cadence Weapon, real name Rollie Pemberton, is a professional rapper and producer from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada (aka Elympia). He used to write for Pitchfork and Stylus, but doesn't have the attention span for regular jobs so he went back to his plan B, which in this case, is rap superstardom. He has been making a name for himself in the North American music scene with his unique brand of intelligent rap. Cadence Weapon recently supported the UK’s queen of Grime, Lady Sovereign, on her Canadian dates and was invited to the Pop Montreal festival where reporters described him as the next big thing in hip hop and Canada’s answer to Dizzee Rascal. Despite all the hype the 21 year old maintains a level head and is focused on creating quality music. He is currently signed to the prominent American punk label Epitaph.
