West Side Piru

The West Side Piru (or WSP/WS BP for West Side Bompton Piru) are believed to be one of the first gangs to form the Bloods alliance in Compton, California back in the early 70's by Benson Owens. The first neighbourhoods opposing growing Crip aggression in Compton were centered around Piru Street, considered the mecca of the West Side Piru. Today there are two West Side Piru sets operating in the districts of Compton and Carson. Members are known to sport burgundy, red or black articles of clothing, with younger members adopting the wearing of all red Washington Nationals baseball caps. Their territory in Compton is dissected by Piru Street and is centered between 134th Street in the north to Rosecrans Avenue to the south and Central Avenue in the west to approximately to Elva Avenue. They have clicks on 134th and 142nd Street and are enemies of all Compton Crips, in particular the Tragniew Park Compton Crips, Carver Park Compton Crips, Nutty Blocc Compton Crips and Mona Park Compton Crips. They are also hostile towards all gangs under the Sureños card but are friendly towards all Pirus and Bloods. In Carson, most members of the West Side Piru are of Samoan decent.

Some Notes:

1: They seem to be the only Compton Piru gang who holds strong relations with Blood sets, and the only Compton Piru gang who sports red rather than the Piru-card's burgundy.
