noun

b-boy

B-Boy is used to refer to the dancers who dance to breakbeats; break dancers. The term came from Kool Herc and others in the early 70's. People have debated what the b in b-boy stood for but most agree it either came from the slang term "to break on somebody" or from the "break" in a record. Others say bronx boy. Check out the documentary film, The Freshest Kids, a history of the b-boy, to learn what it's all about.
