- To kill a plan or action. In the restaurant lingo it means that you want to cancel an order already placed with the kitchen or on the bill. "86 that spinach salad!".
- To get ejected from a place. For example: "86'ed from the club" Thrown out
- Note: this term is originated from Agent 86, aka Maxwell Smart from the great late '60s show "Get Smart" (acted by Don Adams, who is also the voice of cartoon character Inspector Gadget)
- I've heard that 86 is from NYC. The bouncers would throw people out the side door onto 86th St.
