The 83 (or "8-Tray") Hoover Criminals Gang are an African American street gang founded in South Los Angeles, California. Formerly known as the "83 Hoover Crips", The Eight Tray Hoover Criminals Gang are considered the largest and most active sub-set under the Hoover Criminals Gang umbrella. Their territory stretches from 80th Street in the north to approximately Manchester Ave. in the south between Vermont Ave. in the west and the 110 Harbor Freeway to the east. There are six separate Hoover neighborhoods from 52nd Street to 112th Street, but the 83 Hoovers are thought to be the most active and the largest in the 77th Division of the L.A.P.D. They are rivals of both Bloods and Crips. The Eight Tray Hoover Criminals are cliqued up with the 74 Hoover Criminals Gang (their closest allies) and are friendly towards all Hoover Criminals. Other allies include the Gardena Shotgun Crips and the 78 Hard Time Hustler Crips. They are also friendly towards the Eight Tray Gangster Crips due to their shared hatred of the Rollin 60s Neighborhood Crips. Like other Hoover Criminals, the Eight Tray Hoovers are rivals to a large number of Crip gangs including the Rollin 60s Neighborhood Crips, Rollin 90s Neighborhood Crips, all East Coast Crips, Rollin 90s West Coast Crips, 84 Main Street Mafia Crips, 87 Gangster Crips, 97 Gangster Crips and the 98 Gangster Crips. Other rivals include the 84 Mad Swan Bloods, the LA Denver Lane Bloods and the Crenshaw Mafia Gang.
